I've been meaning to actually put something attached to my domain on the internet for checks notes 15 years now. It's funny, I think I visited boek.us for the first time in years to find a time when I was playing around with Deno Deploy.
Why Now?
Well... I have something next week that is forcing me to re-familiarize myself with a JavaScript TypeScript environment. The last time I seriously did web development atom and Sublime Text were the defacto editors. There weren't things like LSPs and TypeScript had just been released.
It's kind of wild. things are easier than ever, but on the flipside also the layers of abstraction are so complex that I spent 45 minutes trying to find out why I couldn't get the red squigglys to go away.
Now I wouldn't consider myself a prodigy, but I've been doing this for a while and getting stuck like that killed my ego 😂
But the fact that I could go from nothing to having this deployed in a few hours is just amazing me. I'm having a blast. I'm not sure that I'm going to continue writing but even if I don't this is better than what was there before.
